Finding out we're expecting spontaneous triplet boys.....

I found out about a week before Jordan turned 1 that we were expecting again! It was surprising how quick it happened with me still exclusively BF him & with there being 8 years between Haley & Jordan. We were feeling a bit nervous at the thought of having 2 kids so close in age & having 3 kids by the age of 27 & with us both being in school. I thought we can do this, we have all the baby supplies we need since we still had all of J's baby stuff. I went to my first OB appointment at 8 weeks, I lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks from the morning sickness so I got 2 prescriptions for the nausea. When he did the pelvic exam he mentioned my uterus felt slightly big for 8 weeks & I said don't say that my grandma had twins! He said it's common for it to feel a little large & not to worry. 2 weeks later my uterus was already bulging in my lower belly just a few inches from my navel. I told Ronel that I had a feeling that there might be twins in there, but we thought having 2 babies back to back might make it stretch faster. At my 12 week check up a student was present with my Dr & he did the doppler to look for the baby's heartbeat. He pushed it down hard(since at that stage your uterus is supposed to be lying deep in your pelvis) & that made the "baby" wiggle! It kinda scared me to be honest, I didn't think you could feel a baby move that early. Looking back i feel bad because that wiggle I felt was one of my little guys getting pushed on! I told him I really felt bigger than I should & I was worried it could be twins. He told me many women think that and my US was the next day, so not to worry. On November 4th, 2010 I got the shock of a lifetime. I went in for my elective 12 week ultrasound to check for down syndrome/spina bifida with Jordan since I was expecting just a 20 minute US. The second she touched the probe to my stomach I saw 2 babies I said "Oh my god it's twins isn't it?" she moved it around for a few seconds & replied "Oh honey... your having triplets!" I told her there's no way there's 3 in there & she must be counting the same one twice, I wasn't on fertility drugs it doesn't happen spontaneously right??? WRONG! She then counted them out for me as you can see in the clip I will post. (It's a clip of the recording of the US I had, so happy they do that with everyone so I can re-live the shock of seeing 3 in there forever. lol.) I proceeded to cry hysterically(which I don't do hardly ever) and mumble "I don't have 3 arms, I don't have 3 boobs, how the hell am I supposed to take care of 3 babies?!?!". Poor little 14month old Jordan didn't even realize how his life, & mine, changed that moment. Luckily one of the receptionists took Jordan so I could get a 2 hour ultrasound of all the babies. I left in a state of shock to say the least! I had to pick up Ronel from work right after so I held off on calling him. I called my best friend Ashley first & cried to her that definitely helped. When Ronel got in the car I handed him the US pic & asked if he noticed anything. He said "it's a boy?" I replied "no, do you notice the letters?" he said "are those the body parts?" I replied "no, each letter represents each baby" he said "but there's 3 letters?!" I replied "yes because there's 3 babies". We were both in shock for weeks! We're still amazed that WE had triplets.

7 Months Old

We are nearing the end of our 7th month & boy are these guys growing! They are currently in the 17 1/2-18 pound range & about 27 inches tall! All 4 boys are just getting over ear infections & Croup. All but Aiden had a right ear infection. If you aren't familiar with croup it's caused by a virus that is similar to the common cold and in children 3 & younger it causes swelling and lots of mucous in the larynx(voice box) so it can make it hard for them to breath. They also develop a "barking" cough and B & C lost their voices so they couldn't even cry. It was the saddest thing! =( Anyway, onto their recent accomplishments. All 3 started trying to crawl these last few weeks. The first day all 3 were going backwards, the next only poor Aiden was still going backwards(he's starting to figure it out now). They are all starting to sit unsupported with Aiden being the best at balancing as of right now. In crawling they are all still doing the army crawl for the most part but Christian can really move, or should I say lunge! Brandon takes rolling to a whole new level! He can clear a room in seconds. Now that they have been learning to crawl he doesn't roll quite as much. Just today Brandon & Christian started sit up from a crawling position! I guess they didn't get the memo that you must first know how to sit to do that. LOL! As for our amazing older children, they are doing well! Haley just finished up with Physical Therapy last week, hopefully that will be the last time she needs it. Jordan loves playing outside with all the big kids now. He asks me from the second he wakes up, "I want Haley....play...outside...Haley..outside", until we tuck him into bed at night. If he's in the house you can usually find him with his face pressed against the window being the neighborhood watch. Haley is miss popular since she's got an endless supply of adorable little brothers! When the neighborhood kids ring the doorbell they ask for both Haley & Jordan now. Jordan & Haley are really enjoying their brothers now that they laugh & talk. We just got our choo choo wagon, If you don't have multiples then let me tell you... IT IS A VITAL NECESSITY! Because of Ronel's work schedule he's not able to come to most appointments so having a way to drag 5 kids around by myself without having to worry about fitting through doorways is priceless! =)
